THis is a great post to read about for new and old teachers. Some intreasting facts in the blog that where included where that in any given classroom centers can take on any shape and centers help develop new skills sharpen social skills.
I liked how you discribed the steps to starting centers. Many teachers do not know how togo about this or get discoraged when starting them.
The speech center was a great idea. In my self-contained classroom I did something simular with OT.
This was great advice.

I liked the information in this piece. Some of the key points I highlighted included the fact that centers "sharpen their social skills" and then a short list was given as to the skills that could be improved. I am going to write down those skills and provide that info to parents on Back to School Night.

I loved your speech center. Working with the speech teacher to develop this is a great collaboration effort that will benefit the students.

I loved promoting the center behavior and telling the students,"you have to get along with people you are not really good friends with."

Some very good advice!
